Keep Active in Normanton

keep-alive

Keep Active in Normanton has been developed to deliver inspiring activities to help keep minds and bodies active.  Its purpose is to give older people of all ethnicities the opportunity to take part in activities designed to encourage activity and independence.

The programme combines a variety of creative, physical and cultural activities delivered in a relaxed and informal manner.  These workshops are supported by valuable information sessions for participants as well as their family and carers which will provide practical and useful advice.

Mild physical activities will encourage mobility, strength and flexibility through chair based exercise, reflexology and yoga along with other gentle, low resistance exercise.

Cultural activities such as poetry readings, reminiscence workshops and screening short films will stimulate and inspire the mind.

Creative activities will explore a range of different techniques such as Rangoli (using coloured rice to make pictures), painting, card making and collage to stimulate and interest.
